Film about the life of the Atlantic salmon and the sportsfishing history

The fight for life

The Norwegian Wild Salmon Center presents a 22 minutes long film about the life of the Atlantic salmon, seen from the salmon’s perspective. We show the film on the cinema screen here at the center. Apart from Norwegian, the film is available in English, Deutsch, French and Japanese.

The film has won an award in the category “presentation film” in a competition with 43 other competitors. We recommend it both as an introduction to the exhibition or as an ending to your visit.

Commercial from 1948

We have some commercial film,  made by NRK, (NOrwegian broadcating)  from 1948 to the 1970’, and is a lively, energetic description of angling in the Norwegian rivers.

Film about the fishing in the river in Lærdal

At the entrance we show films about fly-fishing in the river. The films are recorded in the river here in Lærdal.

In another screen we show pictures from Lærdal and the area around.

The old fishing houses

In the museum we have made a copy of an "Lord-Saloon" from a "fishing-house" in Lærdal - a living room from aroud 1906; here you can see a 5 min long slideshow about the old Lord-saloons in Lærdal.
